Beachlands and Maraetai

Beachlands and Maraetai has had a huge population growth in the past 10 years and will continue to grow over the next decade and beyond. Being on the outskirts of the urban area, Beachlands and Maraetai have maintained some of their historic holiday feel, with a great community. It will be interesting to see how the area will change, with apartment projects in the works and plenty of residential subdivision planned as well.

It is a great place to live, although the drive out of Beachlands or Mareatai in the morning is fairly slow, adding 10-20 minutes travel time to get to Whitford and about 40 minutes to get to Howick at peak times. The ferry service from Pine Harbour offers a more comfortable commute to travel into Auckland CBD.
