Over twelve months and across the seasons, I documented six southern regional parks for Auckland Council, Waitawa, Duder, Ōmana, Tapapakanga, Orere Point, Tawhitokino and the Hunua Ranges. The brief was a photo library for maps, brochures and web, but the real work was finding the character of each place, in its light, its weather, its quieter moments.

What made it exceptional was the people. Horse riders, walking groups, families, fathers with kids, photographed as I found them, doing what they actually do there.

The project wraps in July 2026. The images that go beyond the brief stay with me.
